Short-run magazine printing

If you are planning several issues, send the specifications for the next one. For each subsequent issue, we agree the current artwork, quantity and completion date.

Size, paper and cover

A4 or A5 catalogues?

A4 provides more space for photographs, tables and detailed specifications. A5 is convenient for a compact publication that needs to be carried around.

Choose a size to suit the content. Reducing page dimensions may require layout changes so that text and images remain readable. We can check the feasibility of other sizes against your brief.

Paper for the inside pages

We consider photographs, the amount of text, page count and preferred weight of the finished publication. Paper surface and colour reproduction also matter when printing images.

Cover

The inside pages and cover can use different papers. We account for the possibility of a heavier cover and lamination when preparing your quote.

Saddle stitching or perfect binding?

Saddle stitching is considered for publications of a suitable page count and thickness. We check the size, paper and number of pages.

Perfect binding is considered for thicker publications. Feasibility depends on the construction, block thickness and materials.

The binding method needs to be chosen before final artwork approval. It affects margins, the area near the spine and the cover layout.

Catalogue and magazine printing prices

The price depends on the publication's construction and print run specifications. For a quote, we need:

a PDF or description of the planned publication;
the closed size;
the number of inside and cover pages;
the print run quantity and number of different designs;
colour requirements;
paper for the inside pages and cover;
binding, lamination and any other finishing required;
your preferred completion date and delivery city.

Artwork preparation and colour approval

Before production, we check the main technical specifications of your PDF, page order, image quality, bleed and binding margins.

If your catalogue includes product photographs and colour accuracy is important, tell us when you enquire. Before printing, we will agree whether a sample is needed and how it will be approved.
